Gaikwad Abhijeet R. Phytosome as a Novel Drug Delivery System for Bioavailability Enhancement of Phytoconstituents and its Applications: A Review

نویسندگان

چکیده

Phytoconstituents are used extensively in modern science due to their varied therapeutic actions with few side effects. Regardless of excellent pharmacodynamic activity, many have shown less bioavailability vivo. Novel drug delivery systems gained vital importance increased bioavailability, and overall therapeutics. The water miscible bioactivity vitro, however poor or no action Phytosome technology can overcome this drawback during which the Phyto actives allowed react phospholipid molecules. low lipoid solubility on complexation into herbal extract. Phospholipids show high affinity for polyphenolics, type supramolecular adducts having a certain ratio. Hydrogen bond interactions between phospholipids enable complexes as an integral part. Complexation active constituents plants improves is being studied by researchers, additional research regard predicted within future. This review highlights unique property delivery, chemistry, stoichiometric ratios. We also discuss recent progress preparation, characterization, structural verification, advantages, patents, marketed formulation application enhance Phytoconstituents. Keywords: Phytosome, Phosphatidylcholine, Bioavailability, Patents, Applications.
